Several weeks ago I received an email from Red Run Models announcing their new transkit for the Guilroy 1/18 1964 Ferrari 250 GTO. I ordered the transkit and here are some pictures of what it contains and the instructions.
Build it yourself wheel set. Rims and wheels are two different sizes just like they sould be.
There are lots of nice parts for detailing the outside as well as the inside of the Guilroy car. I really like the replacement hood and trunk handles.
The only thing that I am not sure about is the drilled brake disks. I do not think that the Ferrari used them, so will probably just turn them over and use the blank side.
I have no plans of starting a new project using this transkit for a while, so back into storage it goes.
I will be happy to answer any question that someone may ask.
Best regards,
Larry |

Nice kit for this 250 GTO...
La photodec, ça change quand même une miniature...
La Guiloy est quand même plus rare que la Bburago mais je suppose que certaines pièces seraient adaptables...

Very nice, lam90 ! Happy you've got it. "Special" kits are easy to assemble, & the photoetched parts are very beautiful. I hope you enjoy to work (to play ??,!) with it !

Hello John.D, I won't start using this transkit till 2008 because of cars I am currently working on.
My current backlog of cars to build are as follows:
1. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO 1/12 scale, car number 24 driven by Phil Hill at Sebring. (Still gathering parts)
1/18 Scale
2. 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Le Mans car number 2. (50%)
3. 1961 Briggs Cunningham Jaguar XKE Le Mans car number 10 (5%)
4. 1949 Ferrar 166mm Le Mans winner car number 22 (20%)
I hope somone else get this kit and can show us how it looks completed.
Best regards,
Larry

guy64, I will be more then happy to do this.
By the way, when are you getting back to working on your 166mm? I am really looking forward to see how it comes out.
Even though I gave gave you a bad time for using modeling clay to assemble the 166mm grill, I ended up doing it the way you showed. Thank you for the instructions.
Best regards,
Larry
